The care and healing of souls has long been a mission of the Christian community and in particular of its clergy. Effective pastoral care makes God's love and concern for us present and tangible. The best pastoral care possible can be provided when parishioners and clergy work together.
Children's values and beliefs are first formed within the context of family and we are honored that you consider us your partner as you journey together towards life of discipleship in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that children are just beginning to walk with God, so we seek to nurture your childs relationship with God through programs and opportunities that introduce the life, love and example of Jesus.
The mission of Good Shepherd Youth Ministry (GSYM) is to teach students to conform to Christ and transform culture. The Church of the Good Shepherd is dedicated to challenging the rising generation to engage God's redemptive mission in the world. GSYM does this by training students to grow more like Christ who is the perfect image of God and in whom we realize our true identity. Students are then empowered to go out into the culture in order to transform it as agents of God's redemptive mission.
A solid foundation is the key to success in everything in life. This is equally true when it comes to faithfulness in Christian life and practice. A mature Christian possesses a good working understanding of the bible and theology and has incorporated that understanding into his or her own life. In a rapidly shifting culture, this is more important than ever.
We enjoy a musical heritage and tradition at Good Shepherd that enriches our worship and shapes our hearts, minds, and souls for God's glory and service. Our dynamic music program helps to fulfill the parish's mission in worship and Christian formation.
Christians in the 21st century are called to be light, leaven and salt in their local communities offering caring service to others both in gratitude for, and in witness to, God's love. At Good Shepherd we understand that offering caring service in the community is one of our primary missions. This is reflected in hands on opportunities for ministry and in our budget. We strive to give a third of our resources for God's work in the world. In 2013, this amounts to $317,000 or 25% of the budget.
