Advent and Christmas

While the rest of the world is already celebrating Christmas, we Episcopalians (and other Christian traditions) observe Advent. It is a time of intentional and penitent preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas and preparation for the Second Coming of Christ.
Advent as a penitential season is truly countercultural in tone, but it prepares us for the greatest of celebrations: the celebration of God coming into the world in the person of Jesus in order to save the world.

 

 

ADVENT WREATH MAKING

Join us at 9:45am, Sunday, December 1st, in the Parish Hall to construct your Advent wreath. Families and individuals of all ages are welcome.  Please bring clippings from your own or friends' evergreen bushes or trees and your own clippers. All other materials, foam wreath base, candle holders, and four Advent candles will be available for $20. Those who wish to purchase just the set of candles may do so for $5.

Advent Lessons and Carols

Please join us for a celebration of Lessons and Carols presented by the Good Shepherd and St. Gregory Choirs, December 8th at 6:30pm. A celebratory reception will follow honoring Jim Nord’s retirement in the Parish Hall. Food, wine and beverages will be provided.

Advent Pageant

The children of Good Shepherd will present the annual Advent Pageant on December 22nd during the 8:30am service.

Christmas Eve

  • 4 pm: Holy Eucharist Family Service with Children of the Creche
    • Nursery Provided, livestreamed to Facebook and Youtube.
  • 6:00 pm: Holy Eucharist with the St. Gregory Choir
    • Nursery Provided, livestreamed to Facebook and Youtube.
  • 10:00 pm: Holy Eucharist with the Good Shepherd Choir

Christmas Day

  • 11:00 am: Holy Eucharist
