Wednesday of Holy Week – Ray

Life’s Greatest Moment – Love & Joy

As I approach the end of my life’s journey, I often wonder “How is it going to happen?”  I am hopeful that I inherited the “gracious death gene” from both of my parents.  Just go to sleep one night in the midst of loving family and not wake up.  That is, not wake up here, but wake up in the arms of a loving God who has all the answers to my many questions.

Jesus, however, approached death enduring betrayal, humiliation, painful suffering, and loneliness.  Whichever route we travel in the end it doesn’t matter because the destination is the same.

It is guaranteed by Jesus for all who have faith in him.  Faith that there is a better place, a final home where the mysteries are revealed, and all the pain, anxieties, hard times and sufferings that we have endured over the years no more.  All of those have been replaced with only “Love and Joy”.

How wonderful could our world be if the only two emotions shared by all was “Love and Joy”?  Why not start today with that thought in mind and share it with someone.  Then as our time approaches, we can more easily pray, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit and life, now and forever” Amen.
