Friday, the Fifth Week of Lent – Bob

We cannot prepare for the miracle of the Easter without reflecting on the suffering of Christ. The divinity of Jesus is in conflict with the humanness of Jesus. But, then, we all know how this story ends.

You may find yourself in conflict during times of personal suffering – a loss is grieved, dreams are dashed, a relationship is broken. Your suffering comes from that feeling of hopelessness. And, you ask: Where is God?

God is right here. He has not abandoned you, just as He did not abandon Jesus in His suffering.

Peter reminds us: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

Thanks be to God.
