Friday after Ash Wednesday – Jeb

“God is love…”

This Lent Devotion concentrating on God’s love reminds me of some lyrics from a favorite song:

Our Love,
Our Love is all we have.
Our love,
Our love is all of God’s money.   (Wilco)

To characterize love as money is odd at first, but it hits home to me because we think of giving too often in material terms.  (I got $10 for my birthday!)

We all know the verse “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
So, God’s “money” is ethereal, but it is given nonetheless, and it is wealth and all we have to give to others.

  1. Andrew Austin says:

How does he do this?! This is so just like Jeb’s presentations at EFM. He is to the point, no fluff, and always makes me think more about the subject we’re discussing.
Love, the currency of God, who knew?!
    Thank you Jeb!
